Path of Exile recently released the Sentinel Challenge League, and fans on Reddit complained that the difficulty was soaring compared to the previous version. Developer Grinding Gear Games took advice from their community and removed a modifier that made enemies more difficult when playing.
The “invulnerable” modifier makes certain enemies invulnerable to the player’s attacks, causing progression issues when players are hunted by invulnerable beasts. Path Of Exile’s 37th league is called Sentinel and combines all the other major additions to the game on top of the new content. Sentinel has an optional robot companion who will assist in combat, but also makes it harder to get better loot in combat. Therefore, many players will prepare some POE Currency to enhance their strength.
However, including a bot that makes things difficult isn’t a problem, as it’s an Archnemesis mechanic included in the last league. Archnemesis creates more powerful enemies than the game’s bosses, and since they can share power with the little mobs that follow them, the modifiers that make things’ invulnerable cause headaches at key points in the game.
In patch 3.18.0c, Grinding Gear Games admitted that there is too much invulnerability. Immunity, which will not persist and will only be available for a short period have replaced it. Many players complained it wasn’t really fun because the effort required to kill enemies wasn’t worth it, and some players just retreated instead of fighting monsters.
The patch also slows down Toxic Volatiles, enemies that explode in clouds of toxic gas. The ability to drain your ability energy source, the mana siphoner, has improved visuals. Monsters that give Hasted and Arcane modifiers increased speed and magic can now be found starting at level 6. Players need to buy POE Currency on POECurrency to strengthen themselves to defeat these monsters, come on!
