Barbarian.The Barbarian is probably the most "basic" class you can use within Diablo 2. But that doesn't necessarily mean the Barbarian is useless, however there are some major disadvantages to using this character. The first is that the character is heavily dependent on gear, regardless of the build. Furthermore, weapon damage is very difficult to repair when playing at higher levels. It requires a precise Whirlwind build just to get by.
The Barbarian's true strength is in his abilities to help others. With shouts, and playing friends, this is top class of the bunch when it comes to helping out teammates, and that includes factoring in the auras of Paladins. When playing with other players, don't give to the Barbarian much more than just a cursory glance.
