Slime Rancher 2 is such a calming, peaceful, and relaxing experience. You don't feel overwhelmed or worried about how things are progressing, but you do want to make the most of your days by gathering fruits and vegetables, examining the cool upgrades to determine how they will improve the game, and exploring the Rainbow Islands.

The size of the game is what has astonished me the most. It's in early access, to be sure, but there are a number of substantial areas, as well as, as mentioned, more slimes to find, the ability to expand the ranch, and fun methods to gather additional resources.

Moreover, I cannot think of any other games that would be preferable to play on a Steam Deck at this time; it's so great!

Unquestionably, it is a tad pricey for an early access game, which may be off-putting to some. But there's already a complete release, and it's likely to become even larger and more substantial in the months and years to come. The good news is that it is available on Xbox Game Pass, so if the price is an issue, you can get a decent feel for it there.

This is a no-brainer if you enjoyed Slime Rancher. It is more of the same, but larger, superior, and more diverse. Nevertheless, I am curious to see what Monomi Park adds in the future to further innovate and develop this franchise. Perhaps it's a little too familiar—that's one criticism that can be made.

Slime Rancher 2 is delightful and fills me with genuine affection; it is unquestionably one to keep an eye on.
